Welcome

Little Italy

San Diego, CA

Location, location, location. Princess Pub and Grille is lucky enough to know this first hand. You’ll find us in Little Italy, San Diego on the corner of the famous India St. “strip” and Date St. People watch in the serene community Piazza della Famiglia on one of our three outside patios. Which often is a hot spot for live music, salsa dancing, and other various entertainment. Our large al fresco dining patio sits in the middle of the magic, enjoy a cold beer and watch planes fly overhead as they take off and land just a few miles from us, at the San Diego airport. Making us a perfect first or last stop if you don’t call San Diego home.

Whether you’re spending the day or night in this charming neighborhood you’ll always find something going on. Little Italy, established in the 1920s, is Downtown San Diego’s oldest continuous-neighborhood business district. Residents and business owners actively work together to bring events, culture, and urban living (and working) to this thriving, chic area. You’ll find weekly farmers markets, live music, holiday festivities, art exhibits, and more happening year-round.

Little Italy Mercato Farmer’s Market

San Diego county’s largest farmers market, filling up six-city blocks happens weekly, every Saturday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm in Little Italy. Shop fresh organic produce, pasture-raised eggs, poultry, and grass-fed meat from California farmers along with locally caught seafood, homemade breads, honey, and more from artisan food makers. Every week you’ll also find wonderful fresh flowers, local art, jewelry, and various famous food trucks from every culture! On Wednesdays, experience a “mini” version of the Mercato market from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Little Italy Mission Fed Artwalk

Every year in late spring, Little Italy is home to a two-day event featuring art, culture, and entertainment. Walk and meet some of San Diego’s most talented artists and performers. Enjoy live music, purchase pieces of art and participate in interactive experiences throughout the day and finish the evening with a delicious meal and some drinks at the Princess Pub or one of the many urban eateries. Date varies annually.

Our little urban neighborhood transforms into a winter wonderland with twinkling lights and festive decor. Neighbors and businesses come together every year for this special Saturday in December to check out local vendors, live music, holiday treats, and to experience a traditional Italian tree lighting ceremony in the Piazza della Famiglia. Come early, grab a warm hot toddy from the Pub and take a seat for some holiday magic.
